From the raw fleece…
becomes a coloured palette of wool that is then processed into felt and coloured fleece for painting with
There are many scary tools used
to process the wool from the picker and the carder to the boiling water to create the felt and care must be taken in each step along the way. The final tool, the needle felting needle is essentially your paintbrush for my method of landscape art.
Dyeing and Drying the felt
The Dyeing and the drying of the completed wet felted backgrounds is a favourite part of my process as I treat the dyeing process as a experiment and every colour combo is a bit of a surprise and never disappoints. Wet Felting is always fun to blend the colours and then watch as they come together very literally.
